Dear CAD/CAM Dentists,
At Solar Turbines in San Diego, my Patient actually makes parts for airplane engines and explained that his company also uses CAD/CAM to accomplish this. I, of course, showed him our mill as well and he stood there fascinated with the process until his crown was finished. "This is the coolest thing ... right up my alIey. I have so much faith in the fit of this crown because I know the power of CAD/CAM technology". I was happy to reaffirm this faith when we seated the crown without a single adjustment. Interestingly, he came by the next day to show me pictures of his "milling unit"... a chamber that is bigger than two of my operatories combined. He pointed out all the Similarities in the process though, and said he looked forward to replacing his old gold crown next.
I really enjoy hearing these comments from my patients (one can never get enough positive reinforcement, right?), and CAD/CAM has made coming to work a little more fun. I feel the team at Patterson Dental have hit a home run with CAD/CAM and I look forward to the next 18 YEARS with this amazing technology by my side.
Sincerely,
Robert J. Bey. DDS
